Ride from Devonport to Stanley
This ride will be guided by Sharon. Mostly top-notch coastal riding, with plenty of options for petrol, especially between Devonport and Wynyard.
Please ensure you arrive with your scooter fuelled up and ready to ride! The route is 137km to Stanley. The return trip will be by the main highway. Please ensure you plan to fuel up your scooter at one of the fuel stops listed below.

Depending on appetites, we may stop in Penguin for morning tea. There are various cafes along the main drag, near the Big Penguin statue. There’s a Caltex there, so it would be a good coffee/refuel point for those who need refreshment.
We will also have a stop at Table Cape before Stanley – the road to the lookout is sealed and has a large carpark, but there is an adjacent gravel road (not very long) which goes to the lighthouse. While the road is unlikely to be perfect, it should be fine for competent riders who don’t mind a bit of dirt road. If you'd prefer not to ride unsealed roads, we will regroupat the lookout carpark once people have checked out the lighthouse before carrying on.
Lunch will be at Stanley with quite a few eating options, with riders returning via the more straightforward main highway when they finish lunch or with the larger group when everyone has finished. There is currently a Liberty fuel station at the intersection of the main road and the Stanley highway, but if that is closed (it’s for sale) the next petrol on the return trip is at a big roadhouse at Detention River not far away.
